Welcome to Theology Thursday! Theology is the study of God, his relation to the world, and our relation to him. I hope these newsletters help enhance your faith and deepen your love for God and his people, the church.
In lieu of a normal TT today, I encourage you - as we approach the paradoxical darkness of Good Friday tomorrow, the deafening silence of Saturday, and the glorious victory of Resurrection Sunday - to watch, enjoy, and worship along with this new(ish) song from Bethel Music called Homecoming.
Don’t miss these lyrics:
I see bright crimson robes draped over the ashes
A wide open tomb where there should be a casket
And:
Scarlet sins had a crimson cost
You nailed my debt to that old rugged cross
An empty slate at the empty grave
Thank God that stone was rolled away
Then heaven joins in with a glorious sound
And the great cloud of witnesses all gather 'round
'Cause the ones that were lost are finally found
The Father is welcoming, this is our homecoming!
Our world and our lives often seem as if they’re taking place in the darkest dark of night. But this Sunday and for all eternity, the morning is coming! Happy Easter!
Here's the link to the video. Enjoy!
TO KNOW GOD AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN!
