Resurrection Sunday
It is about the Lamb, not the Bunny, today.
Who am I that God loves me? The people around me don’t even love me. Why would God love me?
God loves you because He created you in His image.
Who Am I - Casting Crowns’s lyrics
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name, Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star,
Would choose to light the way, For my ever wandering heart?
Not because of who I am, But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done, But because of who You are.
Who Am I? I am loved!
I don’t deserve to be loved. You don’t deserve to be loved. But we are loved. We are loved by God, not because of who we are or what we have done. We are loved because of who God is and what Jesus has done.
Easter is the time of year when that truth comes into focus, not because of the Bunny but because of the Lamb.
The Lamb of God who came to die on the cross.
John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Jesus is the Lamb of God. The Lamb who was slain and is alive.
Revelation 5:6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders.
Jesus, the lamb, was slain yet stood. He died on the cross, was buried in a tomb, and rose on the third day.
Jesus suffered because He loves us.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Jesus came to save us.
You Say - Lauren Daigle's lyrics
Who Am I? I am who God says I am. I am loved.
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough,
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know
You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
I am Yours. I am God’s. I am a child of the King.
Who Am I? I am loved because the Lamb of God came to die on the cross and rise from the grave.
Today, Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate that Jesus rose from the grave.
Since Jesus rose from the grave, we can also rise from the grave.
Christ is Risen!
Shout that Jesus is Risen.
Shout, “I will rise!”
We can know the power of Jesus’ resurrection.
We can know that now, and we can know it more fully on the day of our death.
When we accept Jesus’ gift of grace and are immersed into Him, we become new, we live a new life.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
We are like a caterpillar who goes into a cocoon and comes out a beautiful butterfly.
The guilt of sin is gone, and we are new. We are clothed in Christ.
So, we can live a new life here on earth in the land of the dying, getting ready to live forever in Heaven, the land of the living.
On earth, from the day of our birth, we are in the process of dying. But when we are born again in Jesus, we have the promise of living forever.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" 27 "Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."
Say yes to Jesus, and you will live a resurrected life and a resurrected eternity.
